2012 April 05

Lucie was diagnosied with Sirenomelia often known as mermaid syndrome on the 5th of April 2012. This is extremly rare and is only found in around, 1 in 100,000 babys a year and only once in every 15 to 20 years will the hospital that Lucie was born in will come accross it. Lucie also had no womb, bladder, kidneys (as we already knew), bowle and her lungs where under developed. The doctors said if I chose to continue with my pregnancy instead of getting induced early Lucie would have lived for possibley a short few minutes if she had lived atoll as her lungs where underdeveloped and they wouldn't have a chance to develope because there was no fluid around her when she was in the womb, so she would have not been able to breath and she would have died of respiratory failure. I am glad my baby girl is in no more pain but nothing atoll will fill the gap she has left in my heart and the pain will never ease but knowing she's not in pain anymore and my big brother will be taking good care of her in heaven makes its just a little easier to deal with. MUMMY MISSES YOU SO SO SO MUCH PRINCESS 08.1.12 ! <3 Wrote on the 11.4.12
